Vivid Sydney 2013

It’s the time of the year again and from my opinion, there are much more interactive arts this year and that it is nicer than last year. The weather may have helped and that there are less ppl when I went.
Music seem to be played everywhere and syncs with the major light shows.

I didn’t get a lot of time to take nice nice pics, but here are some:

Vivid Aquatique

“Vivid Aquatique is a completely immersive water theatre, combining a magic 20-metre wall of light, colour and music inspired by the fountains of Versailles”….extracted from http://www.vividsydney.com/events/darling-harbour/

It’s a Friday night and don’t have anything to do; so why not go and take some photos of Vivid. I was informed of a light show at darling harbour and was said that it’s pretty good…and it is!
First, I watched at the back of it from Pyrmont bridge, listening to some music. It was abit far, and couldn’t really make it out. Then I watched it closer, in front of it. The music was different this time and you can get sprayed by some water. It was a pleasant and nice show. And it’s free!

Dual Screen

Another silly thing today.

I wanted to use the laptop PC to test IE. The laptop is connected to an external monitor, and is setup to display onto both; where the external monitor is the secondary screen (i think).

The monitor was turned off, so I thought I’ll just use the screen on the laptop. Nothing wrong so far. I click on IE. I can see on the taskbar that it has opened. I can see the preview dialog that hovers. But the window is not showing! not at all! what is wrong?! I scoured the net to find how to troubleshoot it…and finally gave up and used a different PC.

And since it’s a new computer, something might have screwed up. I informed my colleague that I could get IE to work. He’s puzzled, and proceeds to turn it on to try. After a min, he motions to me…see…see see?…IE window is on the external monitor..

Candy Crush Level 224 tips

Candy Crush 224 Screenshot

Thought I’ll write about this level. It’s not particularly hard, but might help someone who is stuck.

First thing is that you’ll notice a color bomb (middle) and a stripped candy (bottom middle) and are coated by a layer.
Try get rid of the candies in between them, so that they sit side by side. Depending on the game, you might be able to do this in just a couple of moves. Once you have this, DO NOT try to swap them immediately.
Try to get more candies of the same colour as the stripped one, so you can build up as many stripped candies as possible when using the color bomb + stripped candy combo.

With the above strategy, I only needed to make another 2 stripped candies to pass the stage.
Too easy, eh?

Is it fun to watch a stick insect?
No…only if it’s dancing in the rhythm of the wind

Introducing a GF

It’s funny how some ppl introduce their partners.

Today, a fren told us he’s got a gf…

A bit of a background. My friend, Mr P does not use facebook/twitter/social media/whatsapp or such much at all. On his first business trip overseas, and when he came back, he had updated his facebook acct with a photo and also installed whatsapp onto his mobile. This IS a big thing for someone who refuses to use these technologies… something must be up!

On his 2nd trip back, we had dinner.
Mr P: Have you seen my facebook?
Me: No. I don’t stalk you, so I won’t visit your facebook page :D
Mr P: Why not? Go see see la…why no one comment?
Me: huh?..ehhh….umm…ok
..browse browse…
Me: ahhhh…. u got a photo…and a girl….hmmm…does it mean what it looks like?…hahaha

Claire’s Birthday

Happy Birthday to little claire.
It’s now …6years, and she is finally warming up to me…lol

It took her 5yrs just to come n play with me! When she was younger, she tried to ‘blink’ her eyes slowly, hoping that I would disappear from her view. If it’s unsuccessful, she’ll turn her head away and not look in my direction :p

Blue Fin Tuna

Walked past Makoto in Chatswood on Wednesday and saw that they have blue fin tuna on the menu again. YAY!

I first tried it a few years back. It is AWESOME. It literally melts in your mouth…ahhhh. I HAVE to have it again.
So, called up others to have din on Thursday…yup..japanese it is! Even on this cold rainy weather…

Look at the photos. The normal blue fin tuna flesh (non-belly) is red and is kinda similar to the normal ones. And as we get closer to the belly, it’s more whitish in colour; kinda like a piece of pork!
