Idiot Proof
iOS UI appears to be touted as really good and somewhat idiot-proof. This is somewhat my impression of their image anyways.
Today, I had to use an Iphone, logging into my email account (in Safari browser), and then clicked on a link. A new tab opened up, and I wanted to log out of the email. How do I do that? Apparently, I’m a better idiot than I thought I was. iOS baffles me! the UI is too ‘easy’, and it makes me uneasy (and stupid).
A colleague calmly pointed out the little icon at the bottom right for me to click to open the ‘tab’ selections…and another colleague helped me locate the Log Out link within the email.
That brings me to some quotes that I have found online which seems to fit me.

N.B I’m not saying Apple is claiming to make idiot-proof devices etc. That is just my impression.

Did this twice! Its not that hard. Had to re-do it to prove that it was I who did it. Sigh.. Trust is hard to come by…. LOL
Malware
The laptop got hit by malware. Was using it one sec, n then the below screen showed up, locking me out. Its not a big deal. No important data lost and will just reinstall windows.
Anyways, it was quite confronting. The malware even accessed the camera n took a picture. The only thing that gave it away for me is when it asks to send money.. Haha.. Sure sure…
Fleetwood Macchiato and Black Star
It’s been a slow day today. Got up at 9.20 and then going out for brunch.
Decided to go to Fleetwood Macchiato to try them out. Was told it’d be a 15min wait, and we could leave our number. Okay..let’s do that.
Coming back 15min late, the seat had been given away; but we persisted to wait…after quite abit (30min?), we got our seat.
Ordered a filtered coffee to try and this poached quince, ginger bread thingy. It’s quite nice. However, since i’m a meat eater and most of the all day breakfast menu were vegetarian, I ordered a side of Ham ($5).
After brunch, we went for a short walk, and ended up at Black Star. Sam Yeo was working and he saw us and there was a new cake and he gave one to us to try…YAY!!!!!. Carmen also bought the passionfruit, something cake, which was also new. I didn’t get to try it; but I also bought myself a vegetable tart. It has got tomato, onion, almond, herbs thingy (basil?). It smelled delicious, but I haven’t tried it yet. Will so do soon for afternoon tea.
Seems like it’s gonna be my vegetarian day (somewhat).
Tim’s Tim’s Burger
Home made burger with lettuce, tomato, yoghurt worchestershire sauce, grilled pineapple, cucumber, melted cheese, with a beer mustard beef pattie on a toasted bun.
Had craving for burger a few weeks back but felt frugal and didn’t want to go buy.
And then saw on Jamie Oliver’s show on making burgers in his 15min recipe…hmm…I could do that!
I just need the bun, minced beef, beer, mustard, yoghurt, worchestershire sauce and some greens.
The taste was pretty good for a home-cooked burger.
I’ve added fresh grilled pineapple, cucumber, lettuce and tomato to it :D …and the beer had to be fiji bitter!
…yum….whatz next?!

“At Restaurant”
Jap dinner on Friday night.
Decided to go to @ Restaurant, that is located at Crows Nest.
To me, it’s a little pricey, but quite nice and decent.
Things I found unusual
1) They give these small cups for the iced water. One gulp, and you need to refill. Seems like I’m having sake.
2) My lady friend and I went. Upon serving, they gave me the menu first; the cups first; the plates/utensils first. I’m more accustomed to having the ladies being served first before the guy.
