Squish the Cyclist

I almost squished a cyclist today near the roundabout.

Approached the roundabout, stopped, signalled left, and looked to the right for on-coming traffic…one car come, and then I would be free to go. So, turning the wheel, and pressing the gas, i double-confirmed there was no traffic on right; looked forward and slightly left to follow the car that just went by..n then glimpsed a cyclist that just appeared out of the left blind spot into my left side mirror.
There is NOT much space between my car and the curb (and it has a railing). I was literally squeezing him in while turning.
Bloody idiot, trying to take pass on my left while i was turning left. I quickly swung back to the right abit before we made contact.
I think he realized that he shouldn’t be going there..coz I kinda expected him to swear or kick the car; but he didn’t.

Another roundabout incident long ago.
I looked right at the roundabout; intending to go straight. The on-coming car on the right signalled to turn left (into my road); and commenced to turn. So, I stepped on the accelerator to go straight. Am I wrong in doing that?
Anyways, guess what? A cyclist zooms straight past the slowly turning car towards me; I was already half way thru the roundabout; and the bloody cyclist had the nerve to indicate that I should give him way.
Did he pause to see if there are incoming traffic? No
Does he know the right of way in a roundabout is not to those on your right, but those that already in the roundabout?
